[The Japan Mint Opens its Doors to Sakura Viewers]

A famous spot for viewing many kinds of sakura trees

Among the many sakura-viewing spots in Osaka, one of the spring traditions is to go through the Japan Mint to see the trees there bloom. The doors are open only for a week in mid April, when viewers can walk the sakura-lined path of approximately 560 m from the south gate to the north gate. The place is so popular because you can see many varieties of sakura all at once. It's a one way path, so be careful not to miss the rare varieties. After sunset, the bombori lanterns are lit, offering a fantastical view of the sakura hovering in the night sky.
