A ceramics museum with an abundant collection

The Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum exhibits many precious works of ceramic art. Visitors can see a valuable collection of about 8,000 ceramic works, including nationally designated important cultural properties. Pieces range from old Japanese ceramics to Chinese, Korean, and Islamic ceramics, modern and contemporary ceramics, industrial ceramics, and more. The museum also provides pottery and bisque-painting workshops, which visitors can participate in without a reservation. (Creations take about one month to complete.) At the tea house Tosui-an, visitors can select a teacup of their choice from a collection of teacups made by ceramic artists from Seto, Tokoname, Mino, and other areas, and enjoy a cup of tea in the cup of their choice along with a sweet. (Fee required / no reservation required.)
