[The Showa Era Life Style Museum]

This museum gives insight into the turbulent Showa era through the lens of the people’s daily life

The 1st and 2nd floors of the building are a library, and the museum is on the third floor. When the elevator doors open, you are back in the nostalgic, good old days of the Showa period. The museum recreates shops, a back street from which you can almost hear the cheerful voices of children, and rooms that feel lived in. A variety of household goods that decorated the Showa daily life are on display, including board games and bright, retro, flower-patterned home appliances. The place not only gives you a nostalgic feeling, but also endeavors to make use of the space filled with a feeling of good old days, for example, as reminiscence therapy for the elderly.
