[Nakano Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. Kunizakari Sake no Bunkakan Museum]

Historied brewery where you can still feel the presence of the master brewers of old

The area's brewery culture has a long history stretching back more than 300 years; an old song has it, "Handa in Chita is the town of the brewery". This brewery, actually used for sake production for about 200 years until 1972, has now been renovated into a museum. (Reservation required / free of charge). The brewery has a stately appearance with black walls and white stucco windows, and inside, the process of sake production that has been passed down from the Edo period is reproduced using dolls made of Japanese handmade paper, along with traditional tools. The building itself tells the story of sake production in the Tokai area. Sake brewery tours including tastings of Japanese sake and other liqueurs are available. (Reservation required / Free of charge)
